I was working on my HP Tracking apps until I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X 10.7 Lion. But when I upgraded Xcode, everything stopped working. All that would load was the status bar (with the battery, time, etc), and a black screen. I tried to fix the problem, but being a novice, I could not figure out a solution.
Irritated, I threw in the towel. Making these apps was exciting and fun… for a while. Then it quickly became tedious and stressful.
In the end, I decided to see what other methods people have used for tracking their character's HP. I found this post over at GamingBruhaha.us. The author describes using poker chips to track HP. I thought that was an awesome idea, but we already use chips to keep track of action points and +2 bonuses for just being awesome. So I was thinking about other means of keep track of HP with no luck. So I went to bed. Then, at 7am, I woke up after having a dream and it came to me. Monopoly Money. Just use the currency to keep track of hit points! It's got all the denominations you could ever want (though 100s are probably the max you'd ever need, just keep those 500s separate). I'm going to give it a shot at today's DND game. Will post my thoughts on using Monopoly Money as an analogue form of HP tracking afterward!
Wish me luck!

Will be up and running soon
Bacon Bytes will be up and running just as soon as Apple has approved my apps and they're available for download. Today's the 16th of July, I will try to update everyone every so often, even if it's just to say that they're still under review.
I'll also be posting some recaps of my real life DND games. I'll probably also post some insight and homebrew stuff I and my group have come up with in our time together.
Other blog entries will consist of day to day updates about my life living with my disability.
Still other posts will be more general in nature, and will be about my wife, my dogs, and so forth.
So keep checking back! This site should be up and ready in no time!
